Pilot Freeze Dryer Apex-16

The Apex-16 freeze dryer is all-in-one design, all its sub-systems and components (drying chamber, ice condenser, vacuum pump, refrigeration, electric cabinet and the pipe work etc.) are installed in a powder coated steel cabinet. With casters and height adjustable feet for easy moving and installing.

The machine is pre-assembled and is comprehensively tested in our factory before it is shipped. User only need connect electric and compressed air to put it into service.

Drying chamber and ice condenser are separate, connected by a spool piece and a pneumatically operated isolation valve is installed between to isolate air and to perform pressure rise test.

The drying chamber is rectangular shape that offers maximum space using rate, and the ice condenser is cylindrical shape (smooth wall or exposed coils type as per request).

The product chamber, shelves and bellows are fabricated from high quality S/S316L. Chamber inner surface mirror polish roughness better than 0.6um. The shelves both surfaces polish roughness better than 0.4um and flatness better than +/-0.5mm/m.

The ice condenser is also made of S/S316L, inner wall surface polish roughness better than 0.6um.

The pipe lines, flanges and valves are S/S304 made with high quality.

The shelf system is always temperature controlled: silicone oil circulates inside sandwich type heat-plates for product pre-freezing and later heating for sublimation. The shelves are cooled through a brazed plate heat exchanger and are heated by an electric bar. PID control and heating/cooling rate >1C/Min, which is same to production freeze dryers.

An additional heat-plate is installed on top of shelf module to provide extra energy for thermal balance. A PT-100 Temperature sensor is installed to monitoring fluid temperature.
